DOUGLAS R. DUKE, (Member) born Fort Bragg, North Carolina, April 11, 1945; admitted to bar, 1970, Mississippi. Education: University of Mississippi (B.A., 1967; J.D., 1970). Delta Theta Phi. Instructor, Jackson School of Law, 1973-1975. Member: Hinds County and American Bar Associations; Mississippi State Bar; Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association. Certified Mediator for cases in all Mississippi State Forums (State and Federal), including Mississippi Workers' Compensation Cases.
Mr. Duke has extensive experience in defending catastrophic or industry-wide litigation, including asbestos and pesticide lawsuits and the defense of general malpractice and liability claims. He is Admitted to practice in all State courts in Mississippi; The United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Mississippi; The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and The Supreme Court of The United States of America. Mr. Duke has also developed expertise in the defense of professional liability, products liability and "bad faith" actions against insurers for denial of coverage. Mr. Duke’s experience includes administrative law practice before the Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Commission, the Mississippi Public Service Commission and the Interstate Commerce Commission.
